Day Program

Gongar airport -Tsedang - Yumbu Lakhang - Samye monastery.

Our Tibetan guide and driver will pick up you at airport. Drive to Tsedang, on the way you can see the vast river Yarlung Tsangpo, near to drive one hour will reach Tsedang town. From Tsedang to Yumbu Lakang it will takes near to thirty minutes.

Yumbu Lakhang is the first palace of Turbo kingdom. Before the seventh centuries Yarlung(also Tsedang) is the capital city of Turbo kingdom. Near the Yumbu Lakhang you can see the first house of Tibet and first filed of Tibet which is symbolize by small white Stupa. After visit is end we will drive to Samye monastery.

Overnight at Samye monastery.

Since you reach high altitude place, the atmosphere is totally change to you, so our first priority is your health that’s why at first night don’t take shower, (because easily getting cold, if getting cold rises altitude problem) don’t take exercise, don’t take heavy food, (cant digest and can not sleep). Samye Monastery – Yamdrok – Gyantse – Shikadze

The Samye Monastery is build by the 37th king Trisong Detsen in the 8th century, is the first monastery in Tibet . Trisong Detsen has invited Gururinpoche (Gurupadmasambava) and Santaraksita flourish the Buddhism in Tibet. Also start the firstTibetan monks, (seven monks from aristocracy family).

After 3 hours drive you will reach Kampala pass(4990M), Top of the Kampala pass you will see turquoise color of Sacred Lake Yamdrok, Yamdrok Lake is one of four particularly holy lakes. The altitude of lake is 4441meters above sea level. Its shape is like a scorpion, you will see holy Mt. Nyenchen Kangsar. You can spend several minutes near the lake side and will continuously drive to Nagartse town along with lake side. Having lunch at Nagartse town.

Near to drive one hour in the beautiful valleys we will be stop at Karola glaciers (5150m) (Not included entry Tickets), then drive to Gyantse, In Gyantse we will see the Kumbum Stupa next to the Pelkhor Chode Monastery. (Not included entry Tickets) In there you will find magnificent murals called Kadam tradition painting. Kumbum Stupa is multi door structure with Buddha’s eyes, one of the largest stupa in Tibet. Looks like Mandala. After two hours will reach Shikadze,night at Shikadze.


Shikadze – Namtso lake

In the morning we will visit the Tashilhunpo monastery, one of the largest Gelupa sect monastery build by the first Dalai lama in 1447 and during the fifth Dalai Lama handed to fourth Penchen lama, from then becomes Penchen lamas residence. After visiting the Tashi lhunpo monastery. we will drive along with Yarlong tsanpo and lunch at near Neymo.

We will have plenty of time to see the picturesque grassland and nomadic area. On this pleasant journey you will see the Nyechen Thangla mountain range with snow capped mountain. At Yangpachen you can have hot spring. On the way you can observe the Nyechen Thangla holy mountain. After drive one and half hours you will up to the Largenla pass 5123m see the Namtso lake. After continues drive forty minutes we will reach Tashi do, over night at Tashi do.


Namsto lake – Lhasa

In the morning you can see sunrise at Nam-co lake and you can take round to the Tashi do, you will find there is some monks are retreat here. Also having beautiful cave. Then back to the Lhasa. On the way to back there will have nomadic area and also farmers, village. It will takes five hour back to Lhasa. Over night at Lhasa.


Lhasa Sightseeing - Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street

In the morning we will going to visit the Potala Palace, the Potala palace is situated at red mountain (Potala is Sanskrit language which means palace of Aalokitesvarah in Indian ocean) in the seventh centuries the 33rd Turbo king Song Tsenganpo have been taking mediation in there and During the seventh centuries the Fifth Dalai lama has been extend.

After lunch go to visit the Jokhang temple which is most holiest place in the Tibet. Its build in seventh centuries by the Nepal princess Birikuti, for her Image of Buddha Shakyamuni. you can take a kora to the Barghor Street and explore the Tibetan handicraft.


Visit Drepung and Drakyarpa

Morning visit the former biggest Gelugpa school monastery, It was founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choge Tashi Palden one of main disciple of master Tsongkapa, Drepung means "Rice Heap”. Its situated at west side of Lhasa and on the foot mountain called mount gepel. In afternoon we will going to visit the Drakyarpa, drive near to one hour (40km) to eastern part of Lhasa, The Drak Yerpa meditation caves structure is looks like a green Tara and so many mediation cave is there. You can see very beautiful valley of Lhasa river from the mountain.


Departing from Lhasa Airport or railway station.
