The beltway road from Lhasa to Kailash runs through Sacred Lake Nam-co and goes north along the largest in Tibet and the world's highest lake Sengli-co (5386m), in permafrost regions. We will pass throuth mountains Dayushan, Kazishan and Nenchentanglha. We pass the picturesque wild natural areas, watching wildlife herds and flocks of wild birds. Along the Transhimalaya, Kunlun, Tanglha ridges. We drive through the most mountainous roads in Tibet - the roof of the "Roof of the World"! Next we move to Darchen and go to traditional Tibetan kora around the Sacred Mt Kailash on full moon. Upon request of tourists this kora can be arranged by the Bon tradition counterclockwise! The full moon on August 30 the perfect day for getting rid of bad habits, good day for solitude, introspection and evaluation of past deeds and construction plans for the future. Kora around Kailash, traversed with bright ideas to improve karma brings forgiveness of sins and the possibility of starting a new life. Transfer to airport for Beijing - Lhasa flight. Arrive Lhasa, meet and transfer to assigned hotel for check in.

NOTE: Due to high altitude (3650 m), it is recommended to take some rest in order to adapt the environment.

Arriving Lhasa - the capital of Tibet (3650 m above sea level), "the city of gods", and the main administrative center of the holy land of Tibet. At the airport, a guide welcomes tourists with Tibetan national Hadak scarves. On the way from the airport you will be fascinated by alpine scenery and views of the Tibetan villages, as well as views of the world's most mountainous river Brahmaputra. Breakfast. Paponka Monastery. Sera Monastery. Jokhang Temple.

Paponka Monastery (3900 m) looks very unusual. Its main hall is built on top of a huge rock with a diameter of more than 30 meters! Stone has natural caves inside, which are also used by monks as meditation rooms. It may have been an ancient cave monastery, long before Bon and Buddhism arrived here. Today there are a few dozen monks studying Gelugba school tibetan buddhism here. Paponka - is one of the most important historical sights of Tibet. This place is older than Lhasa and Potala Palace. It is known that when in the VII century Tibetan king Srontsengampo picked the place for the capital and his palace, he drove to the place of today's monastery and meditated here. After that Srontsengampo gathered Tibetan monks here to create the tibetan written language. The Tibetan written language was created here!

Visit one of the oldest temples in Lhasa Jokhang Temple (7th century). Tibetan pilgrims come from all over Tibet to worship the sacred statue of Sakyamuni Buddha, which was brought to Lhasa in 7th century. The Temple has 14 separate prayer spaces dedicated Master Tsonkapa, the founder of the Gelugba sect, Avalokiteshvara (one of the main manifestations of the Buddha), the famous teacher Guru Rinpoche.

Barghor Street is a round street going around the Jokhang Monastery. It is the favorite place for locals and pilgrims. Barkhor Street is a symbol of Lhasa, it is also a must-see place for visitors.

Sera Monastery (Yellow Hat - Gelugba sect), located 5 km north of Lhasa. "Sera" means "wild rose". The monastery was founded in 1419 by one of the disciples of Tsongkhapa. The number of monks in the best of times was 5,000 people. It is a major training center, the focus here is on the philosophy of Tibetan Buddhism. Currently, there is about 500 monks. Sera monastery is one of the three great monasteries of Lhasa and Gelugba sect of tibetan buddhism. Every day the monks in their traditional bright red robes, arrange debates on philosophical topics.

Breakfast. Transfer to the Sacred Lake Nam-co. Accomodation in guesthouse on the Zhaxi peninsula. Visit Zhaxi monastery. Night on the bank of the Holy lake.

Nam Co is the largest lake in Tibet, the second largest salt water in China, and the world’s highest lake. In the Tibetan language, “Nam Co” means “Heavenly Lake” /. In the Mongolian and Manchurian languages, the lake is called “Tenggeli Hai,” or “Heavenly Sea.” The lake surface is at 4740 meters above sea level, measuring about 70 kilometers long and 30 kilometers broad, with a surface area of 1920 square kilometers. The melted snow and ice of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains form the main water supply of Nam Co.

Transfer to Zhaada city. Visit Tsaparang cave city - the capital of the Guge Kingdom and Toling monastery.

One of the first important cultural relic sites under protection in the country, the grand palace ruins stand on a 300 meters tall yellow earth hill on the banks of the Xiangquan River in the Zaborang(Caparang) District. The Guge Kingdom has left a myriad of cultural heritage such as murals, colourful paintings, sculpture and very special wooden carvings. On the basis of the traditional Tubo arts, ancient Guge artists absorbed elements from India, Nepal and other neighbouring areas worshiping Buddhism. The special art has become known as the “Guge Art” among researchers home and abroad.

Moving to the Garuda Valley to explore ancient cave city Kunlung "Silver Palace of Garuda". Bon monastery Gurigyam. Moving to Darchen.

The sacred Mount Kailash (6714 m.) Believers of four religions - Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and followers of Bon - consider this extraordinary mountain to be the "heart of the world", "the axis of the earth", a place of contact between the Space and Earth. From the slopes of this mountain originated the great rivers of India - the Ganges, the Brahmaputra, the Indus, the Kali Gandaki. Kailash, Kora Day 1. Tarboche, Chuku gompa Monastery, happy rock house, West face of Kailash, Dirapuk monastery, north face of Kailash.

Our journey begins in the early morning from Darchen (4800m). The road runs along the western slope of Mt. Kailash. If the Ser Shung place it goes to the west, across the river, you can visit the monastery of Chuku Gompa, which collects three great treasures: the ancient ritual shell, white marble Buddha, copper vat in which water is boiled without fire. 13 koras around the core of the monastery counted as a single kora around Kailash. After asking the blessing for the kora around Kailash, we begin our trek to the monastery Dirapuk Gompa, which remained meditation cave of Master Milarepa . (4910m). On the first day we trek 15 km, about 6-8 hours on the road.

Kailash, Kora Day 2. FULL MOON. Dirapuk Monastery, Death Valley, cemetery Shivatsal, Green Tara Pass, Gauri Kund lake, Karma Axe, monastery Zutulpuk.

Overcoming the pass of Green Tara on the day of the full moon is a great accumulation of merit in pilgrim's karma! One kora scored for three !!! The full moon on August 30 at 00:34:05 local time.

The second day of the kora is the most difficult physically: 22 km, about 7-9 hours trek, we have to overcome Dorma la Pass (5500m). We cross a rocky mountain pass, you have to be careful not to stumble, the road is littered with huge stones. Pilgrims leave their clothes or personal items on the pass as a sign of the end of the last period of his life with the hope of a new life. Overcoming the pass, we go down to the monastery Zutul Puk (4910m). Here are the most important meditation cave of Milarepa, where the Great Teacher was thinking about flying up to Kailash.

Today trek down the mountains, 15 km, about 3-4 hours of travel. The road runs in to the picturesque valley of Barkha, on the way we can think about kora we just finished. Return to Darchen. Overnight in Darchen. Restoring power to the inner kora.

Radial hike to the South Face of Kailash. Possible passage of the inner kora (25 km) through the pass Chuksum (5834m) around Mt Nandi.

WARNING: inner kora route is technically complicated and really life-threatening!

Moving to Manasarovar. Overnight at Manasarovar.

Manasarovar Holy Lake - is the most sacred, revered and famous lake in the whole of Asia. Together with Mount Kailash Manasarovar Lake is a place for pilgrimage, attracting religious people from India, Tibet and other neighboring countries. To get rid of sin, Indian people are swimming in the lake and drinking its water. According to legend, the lake Manasarovar was first created in the mind of Brahma. Followers of Buddhism also believe that the Manasarovar lake is legendary Anavatapta where Queen Maya conceived the Buddha. On the way we pass the Ghoust Lake Rakshas-tal.

On this day, you can take a hot bath in the natural hotspring Chu. The cost of bath is 50 yuan per person. Night in guesthouse near Chu monastery on the lake Manasarovar.

On this day, on request you can make kora around the sacred Lake Manasarovar (300 yuan per person by local special bus).

Tashilunpo Monastery - residence of Panchen Lama. As an important cultural relic protection site, the Tashilunpo Monastery is located on the southern slope of the Nyimari Mountain northwest of the city of Xigaze. It is the largest monastery of the Gelug Sect in western Tibet, and the main stage where generation of the Panchen Lama carried out religious and political activities. Qamba Hall is also called Maitreya Hall. The 30-meter tall hall enshrines a gilded bronze sculpture of Maitreya whose construction was ordered by the 9th Panchen Lama Qoigyi Nyima in 1914. The lotus flower seat is 3.8 meters tall, the sitting statue is 22.4 meters tall. The total height of the sculpture is 26.7 meters.
